THE VENUE: NIAMOS, M15 5EU

With a mesmerising voice and rhythmical fluid guitar Carrie touches a deep place in listeners. Her lyricism whispers in the silence between notes, drawing you in close while tucking its quiet secrets into your pocket.

Carrie has built a dedicated following around her music with a magnetic gypsy spirit that lingers long after the applause has died away.

She has collaborated with the likes of Damien Rice, Fink, Albert Mazibuko (LadySmith Black Mambazo), Carly Simon, Martha Tilston, and Lamb’s Andy Barlow.

Carrie has co-produced and released two studio albums, 'The Kitchen Table' and 'Home to the Invisible', with a third in the making, coming out this year with Producer Markus Seiber (Mirabai ceiba/Aukai). Carrie is undoubtedly an artist everyone should be watching out for this year.

There is no denying that her style of songwriting brings a unique and almost hypnotic aspect, sending the listener into a dream-like state.

Supporting Carrie in this intimate acoustic concert is Damien Mahoney; the curator of Music As Medicine, a live music event aiming to bring communities together through the healing power of sound and music, performance and dancing, drawing on world influences and encouraging collaboration and improvisation between artists.

Damien is a vocalist, percussionist and producer based in Manchester. He is the music writer and vocalist with Caulbearers, an 8 piece Manchester ensemble creating archaic funk fables and soul migrations. A student of tabla in north India, he has collaborated in live fusion performances with many artists including Ravi JI (world renowned Kora player and multi instrumentalist), and Maalam Azouz Soudani (Gnawa Master, Morocco).
