Port Erin, Meeking, The Harry Miller Band & The Blood Choir

PORT ERIN
www.facebook.com/porterinmusic

"Garnering near-cult status as purveyors of original genre-bending music, Port Erin are a band of three. Two brothers- Reuben Myles Tyghe, vocals and guitar, flanked by Jacob Myles Tyghe on bass and Cerys Brocklehurst on drums. They hail from Broughton Gifford (a very small village tucked away in South West England) and formed in January 2007. The past decade has seen them extensively tour the U.K. performing over 600 shows at some of of the U.K.’s most prestigious venues. They have made appearances at many festivals including; Glastonbury Festival (‘10, ‘11, ‘13 & ’14 ), played live sessions for BBC Introducing and their music has been aired numerous times on BBC Radio 6.

Their musicality is magnetic with tightly wound dives and grooves. Cerys and Jacob’s rhythm section is a solid unit, Reuben drifts in-at times controlled and soulful but with moments of cornered fretting. A milieu of sonic textures are at play with echoes of jazz, coupled with mechanical Krautrock undertones. They are as punk as they are prog and as political as they are personal.
Port Erin draw inspiration from the likes of XTC, David Bowie, Miles Davis, Syd Arthur, Talking Heads, Morphine and Tortoise."

+ MEEKING

"Soaring vocals sit above a power-house trio dishing out alt-rock with nods to Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, Eddie Vedder and Incubus."

+ THE HARRY MILLER BAND
www.facebook.com/theharrymillerband
"The Harry Miller Band presents a tasteful ensemble of delicate guitar riffs, accompanied by soulful vocals with jazzy melody lines and stark, honest lyrics. The creatively flowing drums and the mellow tones of the bass make for the ideal silky backdrop. They propose a sometimes dark, sometimes cheery but always beautiful perspective into the band's vivid psyche. At the heart of it all, there lies fantastic song craft and pure feeling."

+ THE BLOOD CHOIR

"

"The Blood Choir is a unique amalgam of elements:  arena rock, Norwegian style ambience, noise-pop, metal, and emotive singer-songwriter ..." The band, consisting of Robin Maddicott and Joe Mountain, are originally from Bristol, England, but are now based between the UK and Denmark.

In 2009 they began recording material for what would become the Dartmoor EP. Whilst never officially released, the EP flourished widely in music circles and brought critical attention to the band.

In 2012 The Blood Choir released their debut album No Windows To The Old World on IRL, an independent record label that had released albums by Tinariwen and Justin Adams. The album was co-produced by Tim Oliver (Robert Plant, New Order) and was simultaneously released through his own label Top Cat Music.

That year the band toured the UK with Arbouretum and opened for The Handsome Family, Dylan Carlson, The Magic Band and The Silver Apples.

The Blood Choir returned to the studio in early 2013 with producers Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Opeth) & Jon Walker (Arcane Roots, The Heavy) to begin work on the follow up to No Windows To The Old World. Their second album, Houses of the Sun, is due for release in June 2018."
