Date: Sunday 27th February 2022

Time: Departing Fulton House at 10am with pick-ups at Parc Tawe – City Centre (click here for location) at 10:15am and Bay Campus – on campus bus-stops - at 10:30am.

The journey to St Fagans takes around 45 minutes. We’ll be leaving St Fagans at 2:30pm to head to McArthur Glen.

We’ll leave from McArthur Glen at 5:00pm, so we’ll be back in Swansea by 6pm*.

Description: Come along and discover the amazing St Fagans National Museum of History, a unique and much-loved open-air museum covering welsh life over hundreds of years. On the way home, we’ll stop in at the famous McArthur Glen Designer Outlet where you can explore amazing value shops and grab a bite to eat!

St Fagans: First, come and explore the fascinating history of Wales at St Fagans National Museum of History, one of world’s leading open–air museums and Wales’s most-visited heritage attraction, located just outside Cardiff in the grounds of the magnificent St Fagans Castle.

During the last fifty years, over fifty original buildings from different locations in Wales and from different historical periods have been lovingly dismantled, transported, and re-built in the 100-acre parkland. Iron-Age dwellings, working blacksmiths, historic shops and the delicious bakery are among the exhibitions. Each building is frozen in time and opens a door into Welsh history offering a glimpse into the past. Find out more: https://museum.wales/stfagans

McArthur Glenn Designer Outlet: Just up the motorway from Swansea you’ll find McArthur Glen – one of Wales’s top retail destinations and home to some delicious, fashionable, practical and indulgent bargains!

You’ll have time to visit the stores – there are over 50 to choose from, and they cover pretty much anything you can imagine. Yankee Candle, Hotel Chocolat, Vans, The Works, plus stationary, sports, homeware, and more. There are also a selection of restaurants and Cafés so you can grab a bit to eat too! Take a look at the McArthur Glen Website for more information.

We’re not able to provide a ‘guided tour’ of St Fagans or McArthur Glen, so we suggest making some plans for your time there before you go. We are also hosting a Virtual Meet-Up Mixer for those of you who are coming along to St Fagans & McArthur Glen– this is a chance to meet others coming along and possibly plan some things to do together – GO! Social: Virtual Mixer - St Davids & St Fagans at Swansea University, Swansea on 24th Feb 2022 | Fatsoma

We hope you'll come along on this enjoyable day away!
