GO! Trip - Cardiff City by Train!

International@CampusLife welcomes you to join us on our GO! Trip: Cardiff City by Train!

Please note this event is for students currently enrolled at Swansea University (and their friends / family) and is not open for bookings from the general public. A valid Swansea University Student Number will be required on booking.

Date: Friday 30th September 2022

Time: Meeting at Swansea Train Station (Location - Click Here) at 10:00am - Train time will be confirmed before the event. Staff will return to Swansea at around 5pm, but you will be free to stay in Cardiff as long as you wish!

Transport Information: Train to/from Cardiff Central - cost will be approximately £13.00 - you will need to purchase a ticket for your travel.

Description: Come along with International@CampusLife for a chilled day out in Cardiff by train.

Whether you are just arriving at Swansea University or a returning student, we know it can be a challenge to meet new people and explore areas outside Swansea. Why not join our group to help you do both of these?

We will meet at Swansea train station in the morning of Friday 30th September in time to buy our tickets. We plan to get the 10:22am train to Cardiff, but we will let you know for sure in the days before the  trip!

We recommend you get there by 10am, especially if you hope to want to pick up snacks or refreshments, as we won’t be able to wait for latecomers. CampusLife Team Members will be available from 9:45am.

When we get to Cardiff you can join us on a relaxed tour of some of the city centre’s best bits – the quirky independent shops and cafes of the historic Arcades, the central shopping district, places to eat and drink, the amazing Market and historic Castle.

After the castle, you'll be able to spend the day as you please - there are a wide variety of things to do throughout the city and we'll send you a mini-guide of highlights to help you plan! One of those is the National Museum, which hosts displays of national and international importance.

If you would like to visit the Museum, please book your free admission tickets at  National Museum Cardiff | National Museum Wales

Choose your own time to come home, or return the same time as staff - we'll confirm which train we will be catching back!

Please note: You will need to purchase your own train ticket, which will cost around £10-£13
