AZIZA x K.O.G

Aziza Jaye is one-half of Aziza+Finguz, a genre-blurring music group from Sheffield, UK. Their tough, powerful music is forged both from Sheffield’s rich industrial electronic music legacy and a wider global diaspora of black musical influence, including African Funk, Brazilian Batacuda, US Soul and UK Broken Beat. One of Sheffield’s hottest rising talents with a truly blessed voice, we are delighted she is joining the party bringing the Afrodance to Yellow Arch alongside one of Sheffield’s favourite sons, K.O.G

Kweku Sackey aka K.O.G (Kweku of Ghana) is a multi-dimensional creative force, combining exquisite writing skills with shamanistic live performance, fierce raps, perfectly on pitch singing across a massive vocal range and some absolutely wicked dance moves. Not to mention his skills as a percussionist, arranger, bandleader and art director. Rightly celebrated for exhilarating live performances that can transform the energy of any audience, he is a true poet and storyteller, using a mix of English, Pidgin and Ga to paint sonic pictures that reach deep into the souls of everyone ready to listen.

Cool Beans Collective

Chris Arnold, Jimmy The Gent and Andy H return to the decks to headline the night. For over 10 years now, Chris Arnold and the Cool Beans Collective have been bringing the good vibes in any way shape or form. Club night, TV show, radio show, podcast, management agency, events company, silly comedy festival stage show and so much more – Cool Beans has been an ever joyous, ever creative, ever evolving beast for the last decade. The journey has been an eventful one, from Glastonbury to Ibiza, from the French Alps to the Scottish Highlands, from the Musical Comedy Awards to appearances on 13 different UK TV channels and beyond! No stranger to our venue, Cool Beans were a staple of the Sheffield party scene for years and for one night only, we’ve managed to bring the guys back to help celebrate our studios’ 25th. Proven party bangers and guaranteed good times.

Otis Mensah

Otis Mensah is a musician and performing-artist exploring the intersection of poetry and experimental music(s). Taking influence from the rhythmic and expressive freedom of Jazz, Otis’ work uses aesthetic language as an instrument to solo through themes of identity, existence & coming-of-age. Since debuts at GlastonburyWe Out Here and Shambala Festival, Otis has played with the likes of Moor MotherBenjamin Zephaniah and Little Simz. In 2018, Magid Magid, the Lord Mayor of Sheffield (UK) appointed Otis as the first Poet Laureate, who then went on to publish their first collection of poetry Safe Metamorphosis with Prototype Publishing.

Otis’ latest EP "things I should have said a year ago" is a self-produced 7-song exploration of loss and the feeling of being weathered by time, drenched in sonic and conceptual juxtaposition, the EP is coloured with bubble-gum melodies, dreamlike depictions of melancholy and surrealist imagery.

The first single Black Box spearheads with tender expression & radical honesty exhibiting the projects underlying mantra—that our human-experience of shame & fear can be adorned in rituals of song. This concept is reignited again in Aurora Borealis that sees Otis accompany themselves on the piano for a ballad of ominous poetry and thrilleresque trepidation. As a musician and artist from the North of England outside the London echo-chamber, Otis' EP presents as an important outlier amidst the landscape of experimental rap from British voices.

The Beatles Dub Club

The Fab Four like you've never heard them before! Rogue Siesta

Born over a weekend at Boomtown Festival, with the humble goal of getting a band together to sack off the litter picking shifts and enjoy a festival in style. Rogue Siesta are a Sheffield based group of musical friends who’ve pooled their combined Reggae, Indie, Punk, and Ska influences, resulting in a uniquely genre bending, high energy, rollercoaster ride through the world of Reggae.

Major milestones for the band include finally getting booked for Boomtown Festival, playing the main stage at Tramlines Fringe to over 1000 people for two years running, or support slots with the likes of Neville Staple, New Zealand’s Katchafire, The Beat, Treehouse Fire, Undercover Hippy. The band kicked off 2022 by supporting The Skints, a major influence for Rogue Siesta, at a sold out Leadmill in Sheffield.

Rogue Siesta's second EP 'From The Canopy' was celebrated with plays on BBC Introducing, gigs around the country and finishing with a sold out hometown show at Hagglers Corner. After a quick and productive stretch in the studio between lockdowns, the band are itching to release new material, and the first offering from the sessions is new single ‘Rich Man’ which will be coming out soon in 2022.
