Forge Presents: A Christmas Riot
Hold onto your santa hats ‘cause forge radio is back! With the end of the semester fast approaching, we’re treating you to an evening of moshing and headbanging at Yellow Arch Studios with five amazing bands showcasing the best of Sheffield and beyond.
Lineup:
From the capital comes Running Standard. Formed in 2021, this band is known for their grit fused folk, casting luscious melodies while bringing their trademark roof-shattering energy, a beautiful contrast that perfectly captures their alternative and folk influences. With their last album appropriately titled ‘Late Night Theatrics’, the band have only one agenda on their mind: conquer the steel city.
All girl, all rock, all riot. Since the release of their first single in January, local favourites Novaline have been tearing up Sheffield, performing at Record Junkee, Corporation and Sidney and Matilda. This alt-rock outfit are bound to have you on your feet so make sure you’re caught up with their music by listening to their latest track ‘She’s a Killer’.
Spring might have been conceived in Leicester, but it was our great city that gave birth to them, so it’s only right we bring them back. Inspired by the 90s alternative greats like Radiohead, New Order, The Cure and their debut single around the corner, their set is one not to miss.
Newcastle based, slacker rock experts Dish,Texas are catching a train down to do what they do best. Think fuzzy guitars, laid-back vocals and lyrics that feel like pages torn from a diary, their raw analogue sound carries a quiet beauty that’s both deeply personal and instantly relatable. Trust us, you’ll want to be in the room for this one.
Making their second appearance for Forge but with a completely different sound, Agropaco promises to deliver a gritty mixture of jazz and laid back melodies which have mesmerized students and locals alike. Fresh from a sell-out show at Shakespeares, they’re ready to have you moving.
Tickets are £6 so grab them now before they sell out!
