It's our first event of the new year and we're bringing you our biggest line-up to date. We've linked up with legendary London-based night Contact for a triple-headliner show featuring DJ Youngsta, J:KENZO, Sam Binga.

All three artists have pushed the boundaries of bass music in recent years through their innovative production that often blurs the line between genres. This time around we're bringing drum & bass and half-step into the mix with Sam Binga stepping up to the decks alongside dubstep pioneers Youngsta and J:Kenzo so expect some heavy bass weight. 

▬ YOUNGSTA▬
One of the figureheads of dubstep & bass music since the very beginning, Youngsta continues to be a hugely active figure in the genre's development. His defining crossover between deep dubstep and experimental sounds sees him expand the limits of production. His weekly show on Rinse FM encourages new music, helping to expose talented new producers, and the ethics that defined dubstep in its early years still remain at the heart of his sets. From his first sets at legendary club night FWD>>, Youngsta has become one of the most influential figures of the scene. He is the founding father of celebrated London-based dubstep & bass music night Contact so we're very excited to have the crew down for the night.

▬ J:KENZO ▬

Another leading figure of the UK dubstep scene, J:Kenzo blends a distinctive mix of 140 sounds influenced heavily by dub and steppas music. J:Kenzo's music draws from a wide range of influences with echoes of jungle and techno also filtering into his production. With releases on leading dubstep labels such as Tempa, Dub Police, Black Box, J:Kenzo is also the founder of his own imprint Artikal Music UK which has brought us releases from artists such as Thelem, Truth and Sleeper. Like Youngsta, J:Kenzo has greatly influenced the development of the UK140 scene with his fusion of genres and encouragement of new, directional music.

▬ SAM BINGA ▬

We're mixing up the genres ourselves for this event and are very excited to announce that drum & bass and half-step producer Sam Binga will be joining the line-up. First noted for his collaboration with drum & bass heavyweights Om Unit in the 'Small Victories EP', Sam Binga has planted himself as a leading, experimental force in the minds of the drum & bass scene. Binga is ever expanding the concept of 160-170 bpm music drawing from jungle, half-step, dancehall and grime to create a powerful and provocative sound. His signature dark, rolling beats are often coupled dynamic vocals from MCs such as Redder and Rider Shafique.

The duo are back so expect some serious bass weight as Nanobyte's melodic production and Ransom's energy always combine to create the most exciting sets straight out of Cardiff.

Cesco has made a huge impression on the Cardiff bass music scene over the last year, taking up residency with Aperture, Temple and Shelter. A versatile DJ and exciting new producer we're very happy to have him onboard as our newest resident. Big things to come!
