Ready Player One : The History of Video Games - Edinburgh

Ready Player one is a Pop up retro arcade with unlimited arcade game player time (free play, no coins required) taking the player through the history of video games as told via a pop up arcade, 

From vintage original machines like Space Invaders and Pac Man to rare Star Wars games, through to 80s classics like afterburner and Outrun, to the 90s hits of Street Fighter and many many more, including all the classic home entertainment systems (Sega, Nintendo, Atari etc) plus for this edition, the history of home computing with classic commodore 64 and Spectrum 48k machines and rare home handheld games- we will also be including some retro Minecraft and Pokemon games into the mix too - head to our facebook page to keep up to date and request games or ask us questions www.facebook.com/futureartists

Some of the machines are over 30 years old, restored and ready for the next generation of players to test their skills and see who can be the top of the ‘Ready Player One’ scoreboard – are you ready!

We typically run two sessions a day, and we recommend advance booking as we can only hold a limited amount of gamers, so that everyone has a great time.

Sessions 12-4pm and 4pm till 8pm - entry is £10 Adults and £6 Children (U16) and a family ticket £29 (2 adults, 2 children under 16) we also do a special group booking of £65 for 8 people.

Who is the event suitable for? its a great family attraction, we recommend ages 6+ for the games just because of the height of some of the machines, but we do have booster stools and if your child is a gamer, then they will love it.

Is the event suitable for wheelchairs - Yes the event is fully accessible and we make sure their is plenty of room inbetween games for mobility, please note though some of the game are in upright cabinets.

Do you have to pay for the games? No its free play, which means you pay to enter the event, and then you can play on everything for the length of the session.

How about toilets - customers can use the toilets at the centre, which are located near by, please ask for a stamp when you leave.
