We would love you to join us at the inaugural charity ball for Peeps - the first and only charity in the UK dedicated to supporting those affected by HIE (hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy) - we’ll tell you more about that later!

To get the night off to the best start, you’ll be welcomed to the drinks reception by the fabulous Do Your Thing Choir - anyone who has seen before them will know just how good they are...we challenge you not to want to join in! There’ll then be the chance to get your sparkle on with free glitter face painting from the very talented Wish Upon A Sparkle.
Once you’ve enjoyed your meal, it’s time to really get the party started with live music from Hit The Dancefloor. This trio will cater for any requests you might have, from sounds of the 60s and 70s, right through to the hits of today. Get your dancing shoes ready! If a boogie isn’t your thing though, or you just need a breather, don’t worry - there are casino tables and a roulette wheel to keep you entertained (free chips with every ticket), as well as a secret auction and raffle, where you can win some high quality prizes!

£150 - sponsor the sparkle - the glitziest package, where your guests can be the first in the queue to experience the face painting of Wish Upon a Sparkle, plus logo/recognition in promotional material.

But what is Peeps?
So here’s the important charity bit, to explain why we’re doing this!
Peeps is a new charity (registered number 1179495) which aims to support parents, families and friends of those affected by HIE. HIE (hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy) is basically a lack of oxygen to the brain. There can be lots of different causes, and the outcome for each child can vary greatly. Unfortunately, it affects around 4 in every 1000 babies – our (Sarah and Steve) daughter was one of them. We soon realised that there was a real gap in support for HIE families and so, 3 years in to our journey, wanted to do something about it. We began by providing parent packs to families in neonatal units across the UK - these packs include information on HIE, signposts to support, comfort items such as hand creams and lip balms, water bottles, journal and pen, baby grow and bespoke milestone cards - as well as helping with the financial burden of staying away from home when your baby is poorly. Our future plans are to expand on this, reaching any family that needs us, in any way that helps.

Having raised money for various charities who helped us over the years (including Ronald McDonald House Manchester, Francis House Hospice, Oldham NICU, Tameside Children’s Unit and Bliss) we wanted to give something back and be able to help other families who were on their own HIE journey. We also want to raise awareness, and get more people talking about HIE. It’s hard starting out, especially as there are so many worthwhile charities for other causes in the UK, but we hope you will join our supporters and get involved with Peeps.
