Mexican Painkiller, Zodiac Killers and Control Freaks

The amazingly entertaining punk bands Zodiac Killers and Control Freaks tour the UK.  Playing in Manchester at The Peer Hat joining local punk rock band Mexican Painkiller.

The Zodiac Killers -1999-2005

The Zodiac Killers were a band from San Francisco and was the brainchild and 4th band of Greg Lowery, the guy who formed such legendary bands as: Supercharger, The Rip Offs, The Infections, The Zodiac Killers, and The Control Freaks, and also started the legendary Rip Off Records label.

With four albums under their belt, they are reuniting  for the first time in 19 years for the sole purpose of playing the UK.

Playing fast, catchy, fun, yet gritty punk rock, The Zodiac Killers boast a wild show boasting 3 lead vocalists, The Zodiac Killers also feature one of the greatest drummers in garage punk rock, Matt K. Shrugg. A total animal on the kit, most drummers after seeing Matt drum want to sell their drumkit, and take up painting. Zodiac Killers has always been considered a great live band, and now you can see why for yourselves.

This lineup also features Jami Wolf, the original female guitarist of the Zodiac Killers, and Jeremy Tuman the lead guitar shredder with great punk rock chops and incredible vocals. Of course it also features Greg Lowery on bass/vocals.  So don’t miss these guys/gal on a very rare reunion mini tour of England and Scotland.

The Control Freaks from San Francisco was started in 2016 and formed by Greg Lowery, a  known by  garage fans  for his legendary previous bands, Supercharger and The Rip Offs, Infections, Zodiac Killers and for starting his infamous garage label, Rip Off Records from 1993-2006.  The Control Freaks were started with one thing in mind, to have FUN! The Control Freaks have songs that are so catchy you will have to get revaccinated once you hear them….

The Control Freaks have already released three albums - the  first two on Slovenly Records, and their latest one on Dirty Water Records which was released late  2021. It was so good, that Faster Louder Blogzine gave it their coveted #1 lp of 2021.
