It’s 1896, and at Girton College, Cambridge, the first in Britain to admit women, trailblazing students are fighting for something radical: the right to learn, to graduate, and to shape their own futures. They match their male peers grade for grade, lecture for lecture, ambition for ambition. Yet when the men leave with degrees, the women leave with nothing but a label: “blue stocking”, considered unnatural, unqualified, unmarriageable.
