Paraphysis Cinema x QUARRY: Eraserhead (1977)

Quarry and Paraphysis Cinema present a special screening of the late David Lynch’s ERASERHEAD (1977) in anticipation of XUI XIU's Eraserhead audiovisual gig on 1/02 - co-presented by Outer Waves Festival. 

In a nameless industrial landscape, a quiet factory worker called Henry Spencer has his life upended when it turns out his girlfriend gives birth to a premature, non-human child. Trapped in a decaying apartment and a stifling domestic routine, Henry drifts between hallucinatory women and the child’s cries in search of something unexplainable.

Eraserhead remains one of the most radical debuts in cinema — a viscous film that vulnerably delves into the tranches of masculinity and the horrors of intimacy through rich industrial, hypnagogic sound design and a highly contrast monochrome world. This classic in surreal, cerebral horror will play on the 28th of January.
