It is Northern Parasol's great pleasure to announce the second event of our three month residency at Off The Square! In April, May & June - Northern Parasol will be bringing our hugely popular shows to this amazing Manchester venue that we're so happy to be working with!
For those dreaming of smokey bars in Manhattan, uneasy soul searching into the depths of a double bourbon while a saxophonist spirals into your subconscious, this is the night for you! This is Northern Parasol's first night dedicated to the swing and sin of Jazz. We couldn't be happier to announce Basement Collective as the headliner for this one! Collective in every sense of the word, a roundabout of musicians play with them, getting on and coming off from time to time, but whoever is on stage, they unite any audience they perform in front of. They've played Fuel, Antwerp Mansion and Night & Day over the last year & we can't wait to have them on at Off The Square.
Joining them is Lagoon & Apollo House.
Lagoon are a seven piece jazz rock band who have could turn even the greatest cynic into a believer with their gentle, smooth sound. Their music sounds like sunny drives down a coastline, complimenting the funk & neo-soul of the headliner like ice in Whiskey. Apollo House complete the lineup as our openers with their unique space jazz fusion. This quartet from Manchester are still in their infancy, but they've secured a slot at Manchester Jazz Festival, so they no doubt will play an integral part in the city's proud jazz heritage.
This is the second of three events Northern Parasol are curating at Off The Square! Follow our Fatsoma to keep up to date with the third, plus our events across Manchester!
Up the movement!

Stop The Set. Call It Out.
As with any Northern Parasol night, we will be enforcing our Stop The Set. Call It Out policy. We have a zero tolerance toward unwanted, unacceptable and anti-social behaviour toward anyone by anyone. If you see anything that is making you or anyone else uncomfortable or unsafe, please make us aware!
We encourage all those who attend to be an 'active bystander'. This means that if you witness any anti-social behaviour, then try to be a friendly face to the person receiving unwanted attention and remove them from the situation. Do not put yourself at risk or in harms way - if you don't feel comfortable stepping in, then report it to us!
We will act on any issues we witness or are made aware of. We will Stop The Set & Call It Out.
