Lorenzo Bellini is a internationally renowned, Vienna-based pianist, composer, arranger, and bandleader. Deeply influenced by New York pianists Mulgrew Miller and Kenny Kirkland, Bellini's sound blends harmonic depth with melodic clarity and a gospel-infused atmosphere.
His music has been described as “vital, essential, pure, luminous, and deeply serious” (Garda Jazz Festival) and as “powerful, imaginative, innovative, bold, dynamic yet poetic, romantic, lyrical, and truly genuine” (Tiger Okoshi).
In 2021, marking the end of his studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston (USA), he released his debut album of original compositions, Love Grain. After 4 years in the states, Lorenzo received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Music in London (UK), enrolling in the Master's programme in Jazz Piano. During this time, has performed with artists such as Tiger Okoshi, Ni Maxine, Dennis Montgomery, Christelle Pascall, and Roberta Gentile.
As an educator, Lorenzo Bellini teaches at The Gospel University, an international institution and learning platform.
This event marks the release of his highly anticipated second album, Source, recorded with his Italian quartet and released by GleAM Records.
Expect a stripped-back performance of extracts from the album followed by an interview with Ni Maxine, leading into a very special composition workshop.
Note: This composition workshop takes the format of a lecture, covering melody, harmony and rhythm, so bring something to take notes with and keep an eye out for the next jam announcement.
