Mimosa, Jen Dixon & LNC

Listen Up proudly present Mimoss, Jen Dixon & LNC at 33 Oldham St, Manchester on Saturday 11th November 2023

MIMOSA

Mimosa are a 5 piece band situated pretty much the heart of the UK, Chesterfield, new to the scene bringing you a fresh feel of Rock/alternative/psychedelia music. Forming in the early months of 2020 after a mysterious joint epiphany between the lads, it seemed the universe and Lucy had big plans for Mimosa. Covid 19 left no time for Mimosa to take on the world that year. So after a year of stress, jams and poor government decisions, the lads were ready with a set list of songs ready to gig. (Spotify)

JEN DIXON

Jen Dixon is a UK singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the industrial North East coast of England who blends mature indie-pop themes with soaring, catchy and relatable songs.

Jen has been championed by Radio X legend John Kennedy, BBC Introducing‘s Nick Roberts and Shakk, cracked the boards at Middlesbrough Town Hall’s prestigious Main Hall, O2 Academy and City Hall in Newcastle, and been featured in the Daily Star‘s Rising Stars Top 50.

Jen cut her teeth behind the drum kit on her local live circuit and was lucky enough to record at Abbey Road Studios, perform at Green Man Festival and support Christopher Owens on his UK tour, all at an early stage. She taught herself guitar whilst studying for a degree in Music Technology and started writing her own songs during the pandemic. In 2020 she released her debut, self-produced single ‘Falling Into You’ followed by a string of increasingly accomplished releases which quickly secured her reputation as an up-and-coming talent with an equally commendable work ethic. Now with a full backing band of similarly talented musicians the singer’s debut EP is the logical next step, as she seeks to broaden her horizons both musically and geographically, and will cement her as one of the UK’s most exciting independent acts. (Spotify)

LNC

LNC, a Nottingham based band which was formed largely based upon a childhood dream by the lead singer/song writer and guitarist Josh Price along with his friends Jacob ‘Jimmy’ Bettinson (Guitarist) Jordan Wright (Bassist) and Josh Bell (Drummer).
Whilst light-hearted and fun but with a keen sense for the atmosphere and dynamic sound the indie rock band released there first single ‘From Ilson with Love’ in 2016 on all streaming platforms.
In 2019 the release of ‘0115’ sparked an overwhelming response from radio play including BBC Sport who featured LNCs new single ‘0115’ as the lead background music to one of their main events.
From playing in Nottingham at ‘Beat the Streets’ Festival to playing in Scotland, Paris and various other cities. LNC released two singles ‘Desmond’ in February 2021 and ‘BONES’ in May 2021 leading to thousands of streams worldwide which took the band to a whole new level by being played on BBC Introducing. Now with there newest single ‘Circles’ being released on all streaming platforms in June 2022 which has had an amazing response from radio play including amazing radio UK & US and regular plays on Sirius XM in the US.

"Epic, ballsy Indie-Rock, with some very witty and engaging lyrics. Nice1." - NUSIC, Nottingham (Spotify)
