With an eclectic set of influences from the '70s and '80s dipping into post-punk, indie-rock
and shoegaze alike, World News combines addictive atmospheric guitar riffs with seductive,
nonchalant melodies. Moody, punchy, and nostalgic, they've drawn comparisons to iconic
British bands, wearing the past on their sleeve while remaining perfectly original.
After releasing their debut EP Job and Money during lockdown, World News spent the next
few years building their catalog independently, with 2024's back-to-back EPs Escape and
Mindsnap marking a turning point. In 2025, singles "Don't Want to Know" and "Everything Is
Coming up Roses" both received critical acclaim, while their 2023 track "The Tinman" broke
through organically, climbing into the global top 10 viral charts and into the millions of
streams before a sold-out UK tour closed out the year.
2026 has brought further sold-out shows across UK and Europe, as the band sets its sights
on their debut album.
