DUB SIRENS B'DAY SPECIAL - Mantra, MC Chickaboo, Chinese Daughter, Porcelyn & Jameela

After some serious vibes at SUBDUB's 25th Birthday, we’re returning home to THE HIFI CLUB for our own birthday party - and it’s our big mama NIKNAK’s birthday weekend too - so we’re going in hard, and we’re so excited to have such a stacked line-up joining us!

MANTRA

Firstly, we welcome RUPTURE label head and DnB icon MANTRA to DUB SIRENS!

An important figure in the scene, MANTRA has built a solid foundation on which she continues to grow. The success of Rupture stands testament to the hard work and commitment of both her, and partner DOUBLE O. A certified vinyl junkie, she’s also been known to draw deep from the crates and drop tracks that other DJs no longer dare to play.

MC CHICKABOO

We also have the legendary MC CHICKABOO coming through to bless the birthday celebrations! Having started out in Birmingham in 1992, MC CHICKABOO has gone strength to strength! Not only is she the first EVER female Jungle MC but her decades-spanning MC career ventures in many genres worldwide: House, Hip-Hop, Soul and of course D&B; working with legends like GOLDIE, AFRIKA BAMBAATAA, DJ CRAZE and SOUL II SOUL to name a few.

CHINESE DAUGHTER

Born in South London, we also have CHINESE DAUGHTER joining us. A vinyl-only DJ from the SWAMP 81 family, she regularly showcases her favourite selections from the sounds of bass-led old school rave, future hardcore, breaks and more on radio and at raves up and down the country.

PORCELYN

Leeds-based DJ and vocalist currently working with some of the scene's most respected producers, PORCELYN will open the night with a mixture of classic dubstep and her own contemporary productions. Her unique style has helped grow her following over the last year, playing at the the likes of HIT & RUN, CROYDUB, SUBDUB and OUTLOOK.

JAMEELA

Roundling off this stellar line-up is icon in the Leeds scene. Local bass queen JAMEELA has been incredibly busy crafting her unique sound in the scene over the years, regularly providing an education into beat-based-badassery and will be coming through with a performance that will leave you breathless!
