Formed in 2019, Wasia Project’s mixed British-Asian heritage and classical training have inspired them to have a global approach to pop, which dynamically melds styles and influences that cut across genre lines — and even entire hemispheres of musical tradition. The duo’s dedicated and dialled in audience has snowballed over the last few years. 2022’s debut EP ‘how can I pretend?’ featured their breakout hit ‘ur so pretty’, and was followed by a series of dewy-eyed standalone singles such as live-favourite ‘Petals on the Moon’. They gestured at a cooler sonic palette on transitional EP ‘Isotope’, released in 2024 and accompanied by a beautiful short film.
Wasia Project’s touring activity has further built a legion of loyal fans and will continue in 2026, starting with a performance at Radio 1 Big Weekend on Saturday 23rd May. Their 2024 UK headline tour sold out in minutes, and their debut US tour supporting Laufey was followed by sold-out headline shows in Los Angeles and New York. The band have been championed by the likes of British Vogue, The Guardian, NPR, GQ, DIY and Rolling Stone, and they’ve graced the covers ofNME, BRICKS, Dork and Notion.
In this series of intimate shows, the band will be showcasing new music live for the very first time.
