September 8th, Cult Music & Cosmic Sessions bring back that classic UK Hip-Hop sound to Plymouth with Gee Bag supported a line-up of the best homegrown Hip-Hop the Southwest has to offer!
Gee Bag (born Gavin Shaw) has an overwhelming passion for Hip-Hop music, whether from the perspective of a mature artist or the perspective of a fanatic of the whole movement and culture. As an inner-city youth in Brixton - South London, he was inspired by the sounds of the late eighties and early nineties American Hip-Hop, leading to the obsessive collecting of records, tapes and CD's of various artists.
The Croydon resident has collaborated with a vast number of artists such as; Datkid, El Da Sensei, Rodney P, Smellington Piff, Neek the Exotic, Mystro, Tenchoo, Oliver Sudden, Ash the Author, Tuff Boys to name a few! Along with albums such as 'No Worries', 'Show & Tell', his collaborative release with Illinformed "Respect Your Elders' and his latest release 'Memoirs'.
3 time winner of the UK's 'End of the Weak', a Hip-Hop tournament that involves live performances and competitive freestyle, which lead Gee Bag to represent the UK in Switzerland (2016), Chezch Republic (2017) and France (2018).
Closely following the anniversary of the global genre of Hip-Hop turning 50, come catch the Detax, Cletus, L-Plate, Freeminds, DJXL and James Tsoi represent the South West followed our headline act Gee Bag delivering an hour long set!!
