Muireann Bradley is a once-in-a-generation talent. The 19-year-old Irish guitarist and
singer has captivated audiences worldwide with her intricate fingerstyle playing and
interpretations of classic blues, bringing remarkable warmth, clarity and emotional
depth to a centuries-spanning tradition. Raised in County Donegal, she began playing
guitar aged nine inspired by her blues-loving father, and developed her craft largely by
ear, immersing herself in the music of pioneers like Blind Blake, Mississippi John Hurt
and Memphis Minnie.
Her acclaimed debut album, I Kept These Old Blues, recorded when she was just 14,
became a coveted collector’s item, with its first pressing selling out everywhere. Since
then, Bradley has taken her spellbinding performances from YouTube to sold-out
headline shows on both sides of the Atlantic, earning recognition from industry legends
including Jools Holland, who invited her to perform on the Hootenanny.
Now, with her Blackwood Pew EP, Muireann has entered an exciting new chapter,
stepping forward as a songwriter in her own right. Blending original compositions with
fresh interpretations of the music that shaped her, she draws on a lifetime immersed in
blues, ragtime, country and Irish traditional music to explore new sounds and stories of
her own. Still rooted in the traditions she loves, Bradley is beginning to carve out a
musical identity that feels entirely her own.
