Alex’s debut album ‘Until The Traffic Stops’ was written, played, sung and produced in his Edinburgh bedroom yet it ended up provoking the kind of tips and plays that any major-label artist would beg for…3 singles spending a total of 18 weeks on the Radio 2 playlist, sessions for Radio 2 , 6 Music, Radio 1, XFM, BBC Radio Scotland, a song played over the end credits of a Hollywood film, The Sunday Times’ “hottest download of the week” and playing the biggest concert halls in the UK supporting Alison Moyet. Alex’s second album “Call Back”, continued the momentum, a session for Dermot O’ Leary on radio 2, another hottest download of the week in The Sunday Times, 4 stars from The Scotland on Sunday (”passion, guile and a voice to stand up to Thom Yorke”), new fans all over the world following the use of “Don’t Hold me Back” in new hit TV Show “The Big C” and “The Shame” in ABC’s “Private Practice”, “Once More I’m Put to the Test” on The Word Magazine’s covermount CD, a “Record of the Day” and more support from 6 Music, Radio 2 and BBC Radio Scotland. Touring his 7th album we welcome Alex to the Retro Bar for an intimate afternoon show with long time collaborators Bevis Hungate on piano and Paul Gilbody on double bass.
