Astrx: XXXY b2b Doc Daneeka

After a long search for the right venue, we are finally ready to announce the awaited launch of Astrx in Brighton!

We have managed to pull together two of our favourite producers, Rinse FM, Ten Thousand Yen and 50 Weapons dons XXXY and DOC DANEEKA, for an exclusive 3 hour b2b set to kick off the launch of this exciting series of events. Support comes from resident Matt Clugston (Berlin), Matt Ortarix & Gareth Evans.

We've secured Brighton's newest, intimate and underground venue, Mono. With a Funktion One system finely tuned, visual mapping and a select few sound heads at limited capacity, its fair to say this party is going to go off!

This is a limited capacity event, with just 200 spaces available.

XXXY

Rupert Taylor, aka xxxy, has a unique modern take on house, techno and garage music that continues to develop and grow confirming him as one of the most exciting producers working in the underground electronic scene.

Taylor began to make waves with his individual approach to garage which seen releases on American Label; Formant, and Mancunian label; Mindset. His subsequent releases on Fortified Audio, Infrasonics and Pollen cemented his status as an up and coming artist to watch.

With his subsequent releases on Rinse and Doc Daneeka’s Ten Thousand Yen, where Taylor showcased his breakout record “Ordinary Things” through to recent hits ’18 Hours’, ‘No Matter’ and ‘Lately’; he has skyrocketed into the mindsets and line ups of the music industry elite. In addition to his solo releases, his skill set as a producer has led to him being asked to remix acts such as New Order, Pedram and Sau Poler.

The 2011 RBMA alumni is not only a renowned producer but also superb behind the decks, which is well illustrated by his Boiler Room sets, well received podcasts for Fact, XLR8R and Solid Steel, including his numerous radio shows for London underground radio stations Rinse FM and NTS radio.

With a deep knowledge of acid house, New York and New Jersey house, as well as UK garage, UK bass and techno, his DJ sets are as eclectic as his productions and have been well received in clubs and festivals around the world.

Doc Daneeka

Having broken through in the blurred lines of 2010’s Uk underground Melting pot. Daneeka has gone on to cement a reputation in the underground of house. Whether it is tough funky rhythms, or his deeper, more techno work for Berlin’s 50weapons with Benjamin Damage. Daneeka has maintained a strong thread of warmth and soul to his music. House smashes ‘walk on in’ and ‘treptow’ for the reputed NMBRS imprint only further engrained him as a fixture of the scene, not to mention ‘What’s it gonna be?’ with Seven Davis Jr. which saw Daneeka take his sound around the world with extensive touring
Having just dropped the Global Luv ep on Ten Thousand Yen, and with a string of releases readied, 2017 is set for another year of fire.
