Chain Reaction: Dillinja, Breaka, DJ ADHD, Melba, Tim Forrester, Drina

Chain Reaction is back again with the heaviest line up to date. Dillinja, Breaka, DJ ADHD & More.

Dillnja: Drum and Bass has had its share of stand-out producers over the years but only a few can lay claim to possessing such a truly influential, innovative and ever-evolving sound as Dillinja. ’Tear Off Your Chest’, ‘Deadly Deep Subs’ & ‘Sovereign Melody’ were a few of many classics created by Dillinja. Valve Recordings was Dilllinja & Lemon D’s label. 1980’s Hip Hop, Jazz, Reggae, Soul & Rare Groove all influenced the sound of this iconic collective. Dillinja worked and released with Bryan Gee and Jumpin Jack Frost’s V Recordings and Philly Blunt Labels, Hardleaders, Prototype and Goldie’s Metalheadz. A true legend of the Drum & Bass scene is coming to Newcastle on the 3rd December. We are eagerly awaiting this set in the warehouse.

Breaka: London-born Charlie Baker, aka Breaka, is a producer and DJ who took on his alias after spending long stints in front of Dub sound systems at events like Subdub and playing to crowds of Students at house parties. His signature sound includes prominent bass lines

and unique percussive rhythms; which is no surprise given his upbringing as a drummer, in a household with Jazz & Funk. Breaka’s first taste of success came in 2018 with the release of “Rory’s Theme / Puffer

Jackets” on Holding Hands Records, setting momentum with a new 130bpm sound and getting wide support from fellow DJs. Since then, he’s released various EPs and a number of remixes, including Interplanetary Criminal’s ‘Sensational’, 2020’s ‘The Startup’, and Kelly Lee Owens’ ‘Re-wild’. At the start of 2022, he brought us his much anticipated first album, released on his own label Breaka Recordings, showcasing his varied range of taste with nods to trance, footwork, UK funky and more. One of the most exciting acts in the UK right now.

DJ ADHD: The producer that everyone is talking about. Following his debut release ‘Vortex’ and more recently ‘Rips’; a club weapon created alongside Nikki Nair (both released on Pretty Weird), his release schedule for 2022 is filling up with solo releases and projects with Chloé Robinson, Nikki Nair and Villager, making sure that his club focused sound is heard on dancefloors around the world. DJ ADHD takes influence from all of the core UK Dance genres evident in the latest release with Chloé Robinson ‘Steamin’. They worked alongside Four Tet on this and his remix of ‘Pax’ uses the classic Pulse X sample to deadly effect. Serious, serious talent here.

Support from locals: Drina, Melba & Tim Forrester.
