Examples of venues they have played in are Live at St. Luke’s Cork, Grand Social Dublin, Dolan’s Kasbah Limerick, Cyprus
Since forming in Cork in 2024, Smithereens have quickly established themselves as one of Ireland's most exciting emerging live bands. Blending sophisticated jazz harmony with angular guitar work, grunge energy and irresistible grooves, the five-piece have built a devoted following through electrifying performances and a sound that refuses to sit comfortably within one genre.
Within two short years, Smithereens have exploded onto stages across Ireland and the UK with their genre-bending fusion of jazz and rock. In 2025, Smithereens completed their first Irish tour of 6 dates, including their debut shows in venues like Whelans, Roisín Dubh and Debarras, before rounding off the tour in Cyprus Avenue, Cork. Following this, Smithereens focused on the festival scene, making appearances at Forbidden Fruit, A Sliver of Light, and a sold out show in Live at St Lukes for Cork’s Jazz Weekend. Smithereens set their sights higher for their second Irish run, the 2026 ‘Shapeshift Tour’. This tour included their first Electric Picnic appearances, a headline show in The Grand Social, and a sold out launch party for their sophomore EP, Shapeshift. With a sound that refuses to sit comfortably within one genre, fans of everything from Toto to Alice in Chains will love Smithereens.
