Soul Stew presents Marcellus Pittman

Ever since we started throwing parties 6 years ago, we've dreamt of making this happen. Marcellus Pittman is a firm part of the legendary list of revolutionary Detroit artists and DJs whose influence can be felt across the globe, to have him in Norwich is going to be one for the books.

Pittman is owner of the iconic Unirhythm label and part of the Detroit supergroup 3 Chairs alongside Moodymann, Rick Wilhite and Theo Parrish. He started off DJing at birthday parties, wedding receptions and private parties in Detroit in his early teens, but he got his break from another Detroit native and dance music legend Mike Huckaby, at a Detroit party called Three Floors Of Fun.

Since then the rest as they say is history, having collaborated on the seminal release "Essential Selections" with Theo Parrish on Sound Signature in 1999, Pittman has been at the forefront of some of the most forward thinking dance music of the past 20 years. His talents as DJ as well as producer have made him one of the most respected and in demand DJs in the game, having graced the decks at Boiler Room on more than one occasion, Resident Advisor parties and a long list of respected parties, venues and festivals across the globe.

Marcellus Pittman has been at the top of the game for the past 20 years, his music has played a huge role in our personal lives as well as playing a part in shaping the sound on the Soul Stew dance floor.

To host him in Norwich is really the stuff dreams are made of, this is going to be a very special occasion to catch one of the world's greatest in our city and in such an intimate setting.
