Kanteena is getting a Brazilian takeover! 🇧🇷

We're bringing Baile Funk and House tracks to Lancaster for a night that goes hard from start to finish. If you've never heard Baile Funk at full volume on a packed dancefloor, this is your chance!

Baile funk (or funk carioca) is a high-energy Brazilian electronic music genre originating from Rio de Janeiro's favelas in the 1970s and 1980s. Influenced by Miami bass, hip-hop, and Afro-Brazilian rhythms, it is characterised by heavy, repetitive beats, sharp percussion (tamborzão), and lyrics about daily life. It is a major cultural and social force in Brazil.
