Marla Singer are a 4-piece Rock and Roll band from Manchester intent on reverently reawakening the state of contemporary Rock music. Armed with an outstanding demo’s EP and an eye-wateringly powerful live show, Marla Singer combine powerful vocal delivery with high voltage melody to produce a genre-bending soundtrack for the uncertainty of modern life.
Marla Singer consist of Daniel Auerbach (Vocals), Sam Jobber (Guitar), Ashley Smith (Bass), and Ryan Corcoran (Drums), four individuals that came together on a rainy Salford evening in late 2016 each intent on escaping the monotony of everyday life. Formed in the wake of a range of spirited yet ultimately unsuccessful projects, it was evident that a care free and less self-conscious approach was needed. With influences ranging from Incubus and Deftones, to Joy Division and The Smiths, Marla Singer set about creating authentic, intelligent Rock, fusing overdriven melody with tales of apocalyptic walks home, political injustice, and strained relationships. Several furious writing sessions (and quite a few late nights) later, the band have produced a set that is as much of a cry for help than it is a call to arms for those letting life pass them by.
Lending their name from the enigmatic (and most definitely insane) female lead of the cult classic hit ‘Fight Club’, the band strive to emulate Marla’s own chaotic abandon with groove laden melody, buried under a wave of searing guitar lines and acrobatic vocals.
Ending 2017 on a high with the release of their much-anticipated demo’s EP ‘Shoot me Down, Marla Singer are set to continue their journey by marking the release of their debut EP with a massive launch night at The Bread Shed on Thursday 28th March.
