Juho Toivonen (Finland/Discreet Music) w/ Marlotte Nugteren

We have been big fans of Gothenburg label Discreet Music from the off and we are very excited to have one their roster here at The Lubber. None other than Juho Toivonen will be joing us for a very special gig in the Lubber Kitchen for a candlelit intimate gig with some the delicious Lubber Kitchen food on offer! 

Juho's music is sparse, minimal and beautiful. Piano, trumpet and vocals sit alongside subtle looping greyscale electronics in perfect harmony and balance - all wrapped up in a warm crunchy lo-fi recording style. His two records on Discreet are absolutely worth your attention and we can't wait to have him perform in the much smaller and intimate space of Lubber Kitchen. We won't be doing huge amounts of gigs in this space and tickets will be limited! Don't waste your Sunday!

Marlotte Nugteren’s compositions are shaped through self-made ceramic flutes, carefully collected instruments, and her voice. Her work explores themes such as decay, inner unrest, and boredom. Sound is both material and mystery, unfolding through experiment and moments of attentive listening, gently leading into unexpected directions.
