Repeater #6: Ye Woodbeast + Electric Tape Recorder + Dearthworms

Repeater #6 returns to prescribe its final dose of the year, expect queasy doses of unease and unrest in equal measure. Saturday 6th December we'll be lurking in the factory room of Sidney & Matilda ready to medicate your ears with sounds from Sheffield's favourite sons and daughters: Ye Woodbeast, Electric Tape Recorder and Dearthworms. Administer as directed. Side effects welcome.

Ye Woodbeast

Ye Woodbeast's sound feels like it was recovered from an antique suitcase buried under a century of rain-soaked folklore. They'll make a rainy-cold Saturday night in Sheffield feel mythical. Percussion, melodies, and harmonies punctuate intricate arrangements where nothing is wasted and everything carries weight. Their ship-sinking frequencies are your guide. A guide that hastens the drift into a narrative world that doesn’t quite belong to this one. Trust us, seeing and hearing, is believing.

Electric Tape Recorder

ETR will first win your ears, then shine your teeth. They sound like a Captain Beefheart backing band being fronted by a feral Bee Gee... and yes, that’s indeed a compliment. They're loud, angular, and melodic. In between the pulsing and pounding beats, beneath the falsetto, are songs that are dark in subject yet delivered with understated melody and minimalism.

Dearthworms

Dearthworms don’t ease you into a night, they drag you across the threshold. As Repeater 6's tone-setting opener, they will unapologetically grab you with their sleazy, unhinged, melodic offerings in a way that feels half-invitation, half-warning. You'll feel welcomed, genuinely... but with an undercurrent of unpredictability swimming under your chest. They’re not just opening the night, they’re opening the door to a place where anything could happen. Plus, they'll be playing a ton of new and unheard songs for us all.
