Journey with us through the sounds of Detroit via one of Motor City's most respected residents: Mike Huckaby.
Having
grown to be known as one of the true masters of the machine; the DJ,
Producer, Sound Engineer, Tastemaker and Educator makes a rare trip to
Manchester where, rest assured, we'll be riding on a journey through the
decades. Shapeshifting though the roots of Detroit and all the sounds
that sculpted it, to the sounds that Detroit itself created, we're sure
to be Deeply Transported through the mind of a true master at work.
With
an encyclopedic knowledge of music through the generations, as well as a
deep understanding of the roots and culture of dance, the prolific
creator and teacher sees way beyond the hype and divisions of the scene;
seeing, hearing and feeling the music for what it really is.
Selection-wise,
Mike is famously diverse, equally capable of pulling florid disco
records, classic house, and raw, chaotic techno.

Joining Mike on the night will be the equally encyclopedic Irfan Rainy.
Head
honcho for Rainy City Records and creator of the longstanding Community
party, Irfan has the mind and library to dive into an incredible array
of mesmeric music. From House to Soul, Disco, Funk, Jazz and all sorts
of World music, the man will certainly have a tune for you. With musical
awareness to surpass his peers, the Mancunian maestro will warm things
up to a tee.
Perry Louis makes the journey from London, returning
to his hometown where he's had a major hand in the underground scene.
With natural fluency between soul and record, we've said it before, but
with persistently seasoned selections that feel modern, honest, lively
and soulful, it’s a blend that we find so refreshing without fail.
With that we also have the combined sounds of Symbiosis. Ataraxia residents
Kimeoko and Ēl Fairo come together to present their own fusion of deep,
swinging house tracks that we just know will entwine so beautifully.
Ataraxia x Community present a collaborative all-night special; beyond the
typical 4am finish, afar from the week that's just ended, with finely
selected sounds, a community of merry movers, and a venue that sets the
scene just perfectly.
