Two Rivers (Candlelit concert)

A beautiful candlelit concert and sitting meditation with two master musicians leading us into soulful vibes with an array of musical instruments from around the world.

Two Rivers is an acoustic duo with Justin (Ravi) Freeman, who plays the West African kora, and open-tuned steel string guitar, together with Adrian Freedman who plays the shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) and oktav-guitar. Both musicians also sing and play a variety of percussion instruments from around the world.

Ravi and Adrian have spent years immersed in the practice and performance of sacred music on instruments form far-off continents. They share a musical vision of exquisitely crafted sound, giving space for the subtle characteristics of silence within the music.

They sometimes perform as an expanded ensemble with other musicians such as Asha McCarthy (cello), Tom Simenauer (tabla) and Carrie Tree (voice). Previous collaborations include Deva Premal & Miten, Krishna Das, Hari Prasad, Talvin Singh,

Nigel Kennedy, Baaba Maal, John Kaizan Neptune, Paul Winter, Matthew Barley and Sanjay Sahai.
