What will you learn?

Would you like to discover how mindfulness techniques can help you manage stress, low self-confidence, anxiety and depression?
Would you like to improve your emotional intelligence so that you are better equipped to cope with the normal stresses of life and work?
Would you simply like to improve or maintain your mental wellbeing?
If so come along to ACTivate Your Life and take the first steps to a richer more
fulfilling life. This FREE course is open to both staff and students and will
be run over a four week period. You do not have to attend every session,
although we recommend you do to get the most out of the programme.

Why will it be good for you?

The aim of ACT is to maximise human potential for a rich, full and meaningful life.
ACT (which is pronounced as the word 'act', not as the initials) does this by:
a) teaching you psychological skills to deal with your painful thoughts and
feelings effectively - in such a way that they have much less impact and
influence over you (these are known as mindfulness skills).
b) helping you to clarify what is truly important and meaningful to you - i.e your
values - then use that knowledge to guide, inspire and motivate you to change
your life for the better.

Who is taking the session?

ACTivate sessions are put on by the Wellbeing department in conjunction with the Health and Wellbeing academy. The sessions will be run by trained Swansea University staff members.
