DOSS, Crop Rot & Pretty Cool

Bold electronic post-punk trio DOSS began as Sorley’s Mackay’s solo project in a bedroom studio in Glasgow.  Following the recruitment of Mark Black (bass), and Chilton Fawcett (drums), DOSS has evolved into a fully-fledged band, known for their galvanizing music and provocative wordplay.

DOSS tackle themes such as gentrification, addiction, zero-hours contracts, and generational trauma in Scotland, maintaining a strong Scottish cultural identity, emphatically expressed through their Glaswegian dialect.  Sorley’s sharp, witty lyricism, blended with pounding drumbeats and driving basslines, has allowed the band to carve a unique niche with a signature sound. In the words of Vic Galloway (BBC Scotland), DOSS are a “musical wrecking-ball.”

Their dynamic live performances have earned them a reputation for selling out shows in major UK cities and securing spots at many significant festivals, supporting notable acts like Billy Woods, Sinead O’Brien, Fat Dog and DEADLETTER.

The band has garnered significant attention in the media recently, including the BBC’s Radio 1 and Radio 6 Music – giving an impressive performance for BBC Scotland’s Live Sessions.

The band have extensively toured the EU, completing three headline runs across France, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Slovakia. This summer, DOSS embark on a two-week debut tour of the U.S with Crop Rot, bringing them back with them to tour across the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. Their momentum is clear: relentless touring, packed-out rooms, and a growing, devoted fanbase.

With a new single dropping this summer and a debut album on the way, 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for DOSS.

Catch them on the night of Saturday 19th July at Gullivers in Manchester’s Northern Quarter. Limited-time reduced-price early-bird tickets are now available for £10 plus booking fee.

Crop Rot is a vision set forth - snarling with emotion and ensnaring the listener with thundering drums and feedback laden riffs, punctuated by intermittent stabs of noise, all deeply intertwined, melancholic, and cathartic: sublime feedback for the freaks.

Formed in Louisville, Kentucky during the early fall of 2023, Crop Rot exploded onto their local scene, quickly being heralded as, “Not easily definable, but verifiably fun and chaotic... Crop Rot makes punk music but pulls from numerous corners of music and brings it together for some of the catchiest and most interesting songs coming out of Louisville.” - Pissed On, 2024.

In the few short months since meeting and starting to play music together, Crop Rot has recorded and released a 7-song, 15-minute demo tape, with another 6-song, 14-minute demo set to be released in early 2025.
