40 years is a long time. Enough for a proper celebration. Bolehills BMX Track in Sheffield, UK, has been around since 1983. Generations of riders have passed through it's hallowed ramps, including Will Longden, Steve Peat, and even Matt Helders (of Arctic Monkeys fame).
Over the last 6 months the Bolehills community have come together, dusted off the photos in the loft, and collated together a documentary to capture the history of the track. The film spans from '83 and the original founding of the track by Roger Bartimote, all the way through to the present day and the evolution of the track with the times.
Ben Dransfield at Kickrocks.co has been hard at work pulling the photos and footage together, as well as interviewing key figures from the past to tell the story of the best BMX track in the world.
The documentary will be premiered on Friday 25th August at the Showroom Workstation. There will be a photo exhibition showing the Bolehills through the years, a private bar, and an opportunity to grab some 40 years merchandise for the track. All proceeds are going towards covering the costs of the event, and any left over will go straight into the track.
Can't wait to see you there.
