LOCAL W/ SECTION 2 OLD SKOOL

This event is a collaboration between Plot 22 and Section 2 Old Skool, another instalment of our LOCAL series which promotes and nurtures talent in the steel city's dance music scene!

Plot 22's LOCAL series is all about supporting local crews to run events in clubs by reducing financial risk - ensuring DJs are paid while keeping ticket prices low. We're doing our bit to forge a sustainable path for aspiring promoters and DJs in Sheffield. Do your bit by buying a ticket and supporting your LOCAL scene. All profits from ticket sales are split between the promoters and the venue.

SECTION 2 OLD SKOOL

We’re not DJs because it’s fashionable.

We’re DJs because this music got under our skin 38 years ago and never left.

Section 2 was built from a genuine love of the underground scene. The records, the people, the atmosphere and that feeling you got when you walked into a packed venue and heard a tune you’d never heard before.

Our roots are firmly in the golden years of rave culture, from the late 80s through to the mid-90s. House, Breakbeat, Hardcore, Jungle Techno, Drum & Bass and everything in between. The music that shaped a generation and still sounds incredible today.

The DJs and producers who inspired us — Sasha, Top Buzz, Seduction, Ratty, Dave Clarke and many others — are the reason we still spend hours digging through records and building sets. Some are inspired by legendary nights and iconic recordings from the era, recreated on the original format they were intended for.

Vinyl.

Not because it’s trendy.

Because that’s how we fell in love with the music.

We’re passionate about introducing younger people to the sounds, culture and atmosphere that made the scene so special, while giving those who were there the chance to relive a few memories along the way.

No phones in the air.

No social media performance.

No pretending.

Just people coming together for one reason.

The music.

That’s what Section 2 is all about.

SAFER SPACES
The venue operates a zero tolerance policy against discrimination and harrassment. Anyone found in breach of this policy will be asked to leave.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT
No phones on the dancefloor so you can can dance like nobody's watching. You will be given a sticker to cover your camera.

TICKETS
ADV: £2.50 (early entry) / £5 (all night entry)
DOOR: £7.50 (early entry) / £10 (all night entry)

We will hold some tickets back for the door but please buy one in advance if you can - it will be cheaper for you and will help out the venue <3
