Pointless Waste Of Dopamine are a Brighton based 5 piece emo band playing Daltons for the release of their second EP "MAKEmefeel".
Inspired by Midwest Emo bands like American Football & Post-Hardcore bands like Title Fight & Static Dress. Their music is charged by lyrics about low self-image, alienation in an overstimulating digital world and the coping mechanisms they use to journey through.
Pointless Waste Of Dopamine's music is bathed in the emotional resonance and experiences of their lead singer Sophie Kneller, a trans woman born in Southend-on-sea, Essex. This is where she got a start in emo rap & hyperpop influenced midwest emo as "sophonborrowedtime", these influences are heard seeping through into PWOD's specific brand of emo music.
Assisted by the other core Essex born members, Jack Fitzgerald, Zack Pierson and Max Woznica, & Southampton born drummer Jamie Allen the side of the band their roots placed firmly in metal & hardcore that solidify the heavier edge of "Pointless Waste Of Dopamine". Loud unwavering drummer Jamie Allen, hails from Southampton, and ties together the genre fusion that is "PWOD".
