Northern Parasol's Retro Residency | The Sprats | Feat. Stone Mile & Lighter Thieves

It is Northern Parasol's pleasure to announce the fourth event of our weekly residency at Retro! For over six weeks, Northern Parasol will be taking over (nearly) every Tuesday, showcasing the best, emerging talent. We are so thrilled to be presenting these shows at Retro, it's such an iconic venue and we loved working with them for our second ever event, so it's an honour to be back!

Since our formation, Northern Parasol has presented an incredible range of artists to the best crowds in the city. These weekly events promise to be no different! There will be music, there will be madness and there will be mayhem - you know the drill by now.

This also happens to be our tenth ever event! Headlining this for us is Northern Parasol newcomers The Sprats. Hailing from Greater Manchester, they are a self described 'messy rock n roll band'. Merging heavy riffs with melodic synths, they have gained a following on the indie circuit, recently headlining Off The Square and have amassed over fifteen-thousand streams on Spotify.

Joining them on the bill is Stone Mile & Lighter Thieves. Stone Mile came recommended by The Sprats themselves and once we checked them out we could see why! This five-piece from Manchester blend a diverse indie sound with emotional, thought provoking lyrics. With a new single coming out and having been shortlisted to play YNot Festival, they are a band going places, so they're not to be missed! Making up this line-up is our good friends Lighter Thieves. They were early supporters of Northern Parasol and we've been trying to get them back since we worked with them last July! Since then, they have bought their indie-rock anthems to Night & Day, Peer Hat & a headline show at Gullivers, they will not disappoint!

As with any Northern Parasol night, we will be enforcing our Stop The Set. Call It Out policy. We have a zero tolerance policy toward unwanted, unacceptable and anti-social behaviour committed by anyone. If you see anything that is making you or anyone else uncomfortable or unsafe, please make us aware!

We encourage all those who attend to be an 'active bystander'. This means that if you witness any anti-social behaviour, then try to be a friendly face to the person receiving unwanted attention and remove them from the situation. Do not put yourself at risk or in harms way - if you don't feel comfortable stepping in, then report it to us!

We will act on any issues we witness or are made aware of. We will Stop The Set & Call It Out.
