The Belfast legend heads to Zerox Shooting Gallery for one of his essential DJ sessions.

ZEROX have teamed up with our pals Death Before Disco to bring one of our absolute and all time favorite music aficionados to Newcastle.

We’ve been fans of David Holmes in all of his guises for decades. A polymath David Holmes has been blowing us away with his work as a DJ, producer, soundtrack curator/composer and a stunning artist is his own right. David Holmes has a long history of working with and within several key genres including Techno, Electro, House, Trip Hop, Big Beat, Garage Rock & Roll, Psychedelia and beyond.

He is currently in fire with his incredible current project UNLOVED (featured extensively in the TV Series ‘Killing Eve’).

He is also currently concentrating on his ‘Gods Waiting Room’ thang which is both a club night (Banana Block Belfast) and a radio show (NTS).

As well as being a master of several dancefloor genres he has worked extensively with a range of high profile artists such as U2, Primal Scream, Noel Gallagher, Manic Street Preachers, Saint Etienne, Doves, Plant & Page, Ice Cube and many more.

* His groundbreaking 1995 Techno meets Movie Soundtrack album ‘This Films Crap Let’s Slash The Seats’
* His 1997 album ‘Let’s Get Killed’ which fused Trip Hop and Big beat with lo fi Soul & Funk.
* 1997 hit single ‘My Mate Paul’
* His world famous 1997 Essential mix (considered one of the greatest essential mixes ever along side mixes by Andrew Weatherall) - which was a gut busting mix of Psychedelic Funk, Hip Hop and Northern Soul.
* His 1998 soundtrack to director Steven Soderbergh’s excellent movie ‘Out Of Sight’.
* His ‘Oceans Eleven’ soundtrack.
* His production work on Primal Screams ‘XTRMTR’ album (a masterpiece).
* His 2000 album ‘Bow Down To The Exit Sign’ which mixed scuzzy garage rock with psychedelic hip hop.
* His score for director Steve McQueen’s breathtaking movie ‘Hunger’.
* His early discovery and championing of “lost artist” Rodriguez and bringing attention to the artist via promotion of the track ‘Sugar Man’ which later lead to the award winning documentary ‘Searching For Sugarman’.
* His production of the movie ‘Good Vibrations’ - a critically acclaimed drama which tells of the early days of the Belfast punk scene.
* His Ivor Novello Award for scoring the movie ‘71’.
* His award winning score for TV Series ‘The Fall’.
