PETE MORTON is a singer and entertainer who is often referred to as an old time troubadour. He delivers an unruly freewheeling mix of storytelling, comedy and song that weaves its way around the folk tradition. His current show 'The Ghost of a Sailor's talking blues' is a joyful ramble through time (not necessarily in the right order), in the style of the talking blues, as well as unleashing popular singalong chorus from the last 400 years.
This is Pete’s tenth appearance at Toft House. The last time was a memorable occasion with a rapturous full house. And this time we have a top notch support act.
MILLS & FARRELL are noted for their rootsy minimalist approach. Using two voices and instrumentation, the duo have a timeless sound characterised by intricately woven acoustic guitars and tight harmonies. Coming from a background of Australian rock (David Farrell) and Novia Scotia folk (Janet Mills), geographic improbability yields an undefinable element to their modern and traditional offerings.
