Sheffield Techno Institute #42 - The 14th Birthday feat. Mark 'Turbo' Turner

Sheffield Techno Institute return for our final party of 2024 and its a big one! Our first Birthday party in 5 years, and with a guest we have been longing to get back ever since he blew our mind with possibly one of our favourite ever DJ sets at Freerotation in 2022.

Mark 'Turbo' Turner has been a key part of the north's party scene since the early 90s as a resident of the legendary Orbit in leeds, and has played alongside a who's who of pretty much everyone important across the techno/acid/hardcore/more spectrum since. A DJ first and foremost, his skills at blending music old and new, from chicago house to contemporary electro and just about everything and anything in between, are second to none, and characterised by big risk taking, sudden turns, exquisite selections all underpinned by the turbo energy that earns him the name...we couldn't think of a more STI DJ if we tried and can't wait to see what he brings to the party.

The Wanton Beast is one of Sheffield's best kept secrets. A slick purveyor of all things that bang, expect 'brum techno classics, reptilian electro and general music to get fists bumping up to the ceiling.

STI residents will be warming up the place and also closing it down in a b2b2b2b melee that will sure to feature spin backs and carnage in spades.
