antics Clubnight: SULK

Info Antics - foolish, outrageous, or amusing behaviour. Also an album by Interpol. Now one of the freshest club nights in the North-West.

Line-Up Sulk

"With its epic, stadium-indie guitars, baggy beats and trippy lyrics, this Suede-meets-Oasis numbers sets Sulk far above other 1990s revivalists" - The Independent

“Sounds like The Stone Roses if they signed to Creation” – The Guardian

"Pretty damn catchy" - NME

"They're amazing. It's like if Ian Brown put together a band with Graham Coxon on guitar, a drunk-ass Mani on bass and Catherine Wheel's drummer" - NME (The Dandy Warhols' Courtney Taylor Taylor on his favourite new band)

"Five piece with a soaring British sound, full of attitude and swagger" - i-D Magazine

Under the rainy skies of London, the shining sounds of Britpop, Shoegaze and Psychedelia are back in bloom. Locked up in the back room of an east end gallery stirring up 90s inspired sonic harmonies, this five-piece’s influences are less worn on their sleeves, than branded on their hearts. Bands such as The Stone Roses, Ride and The Verve are wholly evident, but this isn't nostalgia for old time’s sake. It’s a whitewash of powerful prettiness; with sun-drenched vocals, ethereal guitars and pounding drums, rooted in 90s vibes but with its eyes to the future. SULK mix what came before, and what’s yet to come into crushing waves of beauty, honesty and anthemic bliss for a whole new generation.

Ist Ist

Ist Ist are a Manchester-based three piece that have crawled out from the gutter and purged their seemingly disparate musical backgrounds to form a scowling, rapturous concoction that draws from the early, gothic post-punk sounds of Bauhaus marred against cold, stark industrial electronic slurry reminiscent of early Black Rain or Sunn O))).

Multiplier

Rich passionate vocals, guitar that shimmers and roars, pounding yet melodic bass and driving drums that interweave the songs rather than merely act as a foundation.

Multiplier made their debut at the tail end of 2012, opening for the highly acclaimed ILiKETRAiNS at The Deaf Institute, Manchester. Further shows opening for several touring bands as well as a series of smaller venue gigs have seen the band develop their live sound. A three track taster/ debut EP will be released late March/ early April 2015

DJs The Watchmakers

Fast becoming one of Manchester's most loved underground bands, The Watchmakers will take over the decks creating dance floor vibes consisting of tunes influential to their music.
