For the first time, the four streets of the Granby will be ringing with the celebrated sounds of the contemporary jazz string trio, J.A.M. String Collective, who bring improvising strings to the forefont of UK Jazz. Stopping by in Liverpool as part of their UK headline tour following their debut EP launch, the all-female strings collective occupies a fluid space between jazz and contemporary sound worlds, taking influence from ATOM String Quartet, Charles Mingus and Kronos Quartet.
The trio weaves songlike melodies into open group improvisations, creating spontaneous filmic textures, injected with a solid dose of groove and the Blues. We’ve curated a playlist to get you warmed up for a very special evening where Tomorrow's Warriors alumni Annalise Lam, Julia Dos Reis and Miranda Lewis-Brown will play their original music for the first time in Liverpool, before being joined by Ni Maxine for a selection of well-known jazz standards from ‘Summertime’ to ‘God Bless The Child’ with the spectacular string trio.
This is a standing event.
