Following on from our sell out debut show at the Nest with Wen, we return to the table with our first ever International booking from across the pond ~ and this ones straight outta New Jersey in America 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Introducing ~ Jersey Club

A genre rooted in Baltimore Club and pioneered during the late 90s by the Brick Bandits Crew, Jersey club has blissfully managed to remain within UK underground circles since its appearance from across the Atlantic. Its showcases are largely confined to select raves in larger cities, but at Function 16 its a sound we’ve been coyfully slipping you over the last year during our resident sets. The sound has quickly become a large part of our musical armoury purely due to the reaction it gets. 

Thunderous kick patterns, signature bedsprings and heavily spliced vocals. Bass heavy staccato Hip Hop ramped up to 130-140 bpm accompanied by relentless break infused percussion. Chances are you’ve been dancing to it for a while now at our Functions, while its true musical identity has done well to remain largely unstated, until now. 

You constantly come up to us asking “What even is this”, so we thought the best way to explain would be to get one of the most influential acts available to us down for a night of authentic, Jersey Club orientated music!

Uniiqu3

Cherise Gary AKA Uniiqu3 is one of the few Jersey acts that frequently represents the sound her peers created, on a global scale. Many acts promoting the Jersey club sound capitalised on the sound at a later date and while arguably this does well to raise awareness, the roots of the sound are often lost. This has occurred to the point where its originators are somewhat unhappy that the legacy has been lost to acts that were uninvolved from the beginning. Rest assured, Uniiqu3 will give you an authentic insight into the sound, as intended by its originators. In other words, she’ll turn up and tear the club apart. 

We’ve been waiting for the right  time where we can bring a  night of Jersey to Bath, and finally, we believe that time is now upon us. 
Whether you know what it is or not -  just take our word that Bath is ready and this is one that won’t be repeated. 

To our knowledge, there has only been 1 other show in the UK with Uniiqu3 at a venue this intimate, she usually sticks to Fabric and Motion. This is a special one.
