Narwhals is the long-running project of Mancunian singer-songwriter Jacob Patrick. Despite being built around Jacob’s deeply personal and poetic songwriting and characteristic baritone crooning, Narwhals has always been a collaborative effort with other musicians, most notably over many years with brothers Michael and Phill Ward, Ben Hunter and Tim Norman. Their sound has been likened to The National, Frightened Rabbit and Joy Division but draws on a range of influences from the blissed out post-rock of Sigur Ros or Mogwai to the hard-edged grunginess of Nirvana.

Their debut album Two Dark Windows was released in 2018 and encompassed a body of work written over 10 years. Their 2022 single 3310 & A Pterosaur was their first release with Bread Records and their newest single Airport Runs was released on the 15th December 2023, followed by single Unstitched (9th February 2024) and album New Years Drunk In A Cocktail Bar later in 2024.

The project currently consists of two parts with the aforementioned Ward brothers assisting with the production of upcoming releases while the live band consists of new collaborators Harry Moore, Liam Middleton and Christian Sinclair.

First appearing on the Manchester music scene in 2019, Anyone’s Ghost makes a large impact with a delicate sound, her solemn songs touching on themes of death, romance, mystery and murder. The solo project of local songwriter Wanda Roslyn, Anyone’s Ghost was born from the influence of dark folk and indie rock, encompassed in poetic lyricism and an affection for literature. Usually wielding an acoustic guitar and a multitude of effects pedals, Wanda is able to capture attention from the get-go with haunting vocals, melodic guitar work and a soundscape formed with intensity and emotion.

The debut album "Necromancer" is a testament to Wanda's songwriting ability, from the deeply touching imagery in "Out Of Spite", the power and ferocity of the lyrics in "Ancestor", to the delicate and intrinsic descriptive poetry relayed in "The Lexington". Wanda's compelling songwriting is central to Anyone's Ghost's tracks, and their musical capability gives it a backdrop enriched in noise, through the use of pedals and dynamic guitar work.

These songs are brought even more to life by producer michael webster, who has worked with Wanda over the past four years. Crafting soundscapes behind the tracks, adding unconventional instrumentation and using distortion, feedback and walls of sound from an electric guitar, he is able to create an atmosphere that perfectly compliments the tone of Anyone's Ghost.

With the addition of Max Macmillan on keys and guitar, the three-piece have been able to bring this to the stage, having performed multiple headline slots across Manchester this year alone, including an album launch on the 20th of July at Band On The Wall; they have been making waves in the city and garnering attention and audiences from all across the North West.

Having started his career in Northern Ireland, Garrett moved to Manchester from his home in Derrynoose, Co, Armagh, and left his old band behind to start something new. Having studied through the pandemic, Garrett took his time to hone his sound and find the right band members to match his energy and sound.

Among the moody wall-of-sound rock, listeners will find influences of psyche-rock and dream-pop, with key influences including Chet Faker, Tame Impala, Alt-J, The War On Drugs, Jeff Buckley and FKJ, listeners can expect a creative and unique take on the broad genre.

Having recently played shows at iconic Manchester venues such as Gullivers, Band On The Wall and Low Four Studio, Garrett is ready to bring his instrumental proficiency and unique sound to the Manchester alternative scene.

Following on from his success as a lead guitarist, Cam Davies is a singer-songwriter who currently works on his solo project Cam Davies music. Cam enjoyed being a lead guitarist in a number of bands including touring grunge/alt band SUNGLO, who featured on BBC introducing, Radio X and BRIT AWARDS.

Using a wide range of influences, Cam Davies continues to find a way to blend them all in a subtle, complementive way to coincide with his quirky yet shy and polite character and manner. From soft enchanting vocal melodies and mind pleasing jazz chords played in a moody curious way that can take you to grunge/shoegaze vibe and then straight back to feel good pop, then to midwest emo, and back to classic rock n roll.

Cam Davies has something for everyone whilst having a unique separate sound entirely, which is why it is always worth keeping an eye out for one of his performances around Manchester.
