"Alt-folk with some deeply personal lyricism, words that touch on personal independence, feminism, and more."
- CLASH

"Easily one of the best bands to ever come out of Sheffield, 'Buddleia' is a diamond amongst a back catalogue of other precious gems?

- BBC Introducing Sheffield

Before Breakfast explore feminist issues through the telling of personal stories - fusing their classical knowledge and rich arrangements with raw expression. Gina and Lucy's music has always been beautiful, though is often layered with feminine discomfort. An uneasy web of harmonies and relentless piano, intricate cello and expressively haunting vocals run through their back catalogue and feature on their debut album I Could Be Asleep If It Weren't For You - Released January 28th 2022

The four piece have toured with gold certified Sony artist Tokio Myers and Mercury Prize nominated Bella Union artist C. Duncan, performing at venues such as Shepherds Bush Empire, Manchester Albert Hall, The Sage, Scala, Band On the Wall, Thekla and The Rescue Rooms.

Bella Spinks

Singer-songwriter Bella Spinks released her debut album, 'Homeostasis', produced by Matt Ingram (Laura Marling, Lianne La Havas, Denai Moore), in 2018 on Sublime Recordings.

Showcasing her signature piano style and inventive vocals, she has drawn comparisons to Joni Mitchell, Kate Bush, Carole King and Regina Spektor.

'Bella has the true instincts of every born poet, lyricist or writer that ever breathed'

- Tom Robinson 6music
