Foundling, the project of Canadian-born, Berlin-based harpist, composer and sound artist Erin Lang, presents live performances drawn from ‘Artemisia', a new body of work that unfurls delicately, weaving a serene fantasy landscape over a shadowy underworld. It marks a departure for Foundling, being primarily instrumental and spoken word, and moving between composed passages and improvised sections that bend and change with each live performance. To be released via Shadow World Records (UK) March 20th.
Created as a response to moments of personal and collective rupture, Artemisia unfolds as a gentle, immersive listening experience, music made to soften, to echo, and to offer quiet refuge, a balm for anxious hearts in troubled times.
The live set weaves harp, voice, and flute into a slowly evolving sonic landscape. Sustained tones, drifting melodies, and subtle harmonic shifts encourage deep immersive listening. The music moves fluidly between ambient, experimental new age, and psychedelic folk.
Foundling’s concerts feel closer to shared listening rituals than traditional performances. The room becomes part of the music, with resonance, silence, and collective attention shaping each concert.
Artemisia takes its name from a plant associated with healing, dreaming, and renewal, and the live performance mirrors these essentials - honouring vulnerability, shadow, and care, while gently guiding listeners toward deep reflection.
Each concert offers a space to slow down, listen deeply, and inhabit shared vibration.
