Manchester band Caulbearers celebrate the release of their album ‘Come Back Home’ with a launch party & live gig featuring a stellar line up of collective members and contributors on stage.
The band are joined by superb vocalist Ruth Blake for this date, plus DJs and a guest support act to be announced soon.
Fittingly, The Carlton Club is the first place the band ever rehearsed together many moons ago, in a dusty room one floor above the main live space.
Based on the songs of producer and vocalist Damien Mahoney, the ensemble weave together elements of hip-hop, funk, dub, soul and jazz, with plenty of grit and discord in the mix.
Their sound has been described as …”roots music from the rainy city… psychedelic soul with poetic, social observation.”
Videos for the single ’Next World’ and the Paltin remix by Liviu Gheorghe (Elf Traps / Matthew Halsall) are both linked below...

“An infectious offering, tastefully weaving in elements of surf pop, funk rock and world music.”

"Impressive... what it might sound like were you to cross Bill Laswell and Massive Attack with Laura Marling and Mojave 3... stellar, believable and inspiring."

“Funky and original…All music should be this progressive”
~ Jammerzine
Caulbearers create music that shines like a mystical mosaic and whose fragmented pieces create a visceral, celebratory and abstract work of art.”
