First appearing on the Manchester music scene in 2019, Anyone’s Ghost makes a large impact with a delicate sound, her solemn songs touching on themes of death, romance, mystery and murder. The solo project of local songwriter Wanda Roslyn, Anyone’s Ghost was born from the influence of dark folk and indie rock, encompassed in poetic lyricism and an affection for literature. Usually wielding an acoustic guitar and a multitude of effects pedals, Wanda is able to capture attention from the get-go with haunting vocals, melodic guitar work and a soundscape formed with intensity and emotion.

Following on from the release of their debut EP back in 2021, “A Good Winter In June”, Anyone’s Ghost has returned with the release of the new single “The Secret History” on the 4th of April 2023. Taken from the upcoming debut album set for release this year, “The Secret History” is a perfect encapsulation of the intensity and dynamic of Anyone’s Ghost’ sound; delicate and intrinsic lyricism backed by a ferocious, intense soundscape that formulates a truly unique style, reminiscent of artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, PJ Harvey and Bon Iver. The track is inspired by Donna Tartt’s book of the same name, an inverted murder mystery story, truly apt for the styling of Wanda’s songwriting.

With a full five minutes and 40 seconds laden with emotion, power and restraint, ‘The Secret History” is sure to entrance any listener, whilst simultaneously keeping you in blood-curdling suspense and awe.
