Quarry is super pleased to be putting on Oort Clod on their tour of their latest work: Cult Value. Oort Clod, based in Manchester was originally conceived by songwriter Patrick Glen as a fluid project with shifting members. Over the course of pandemic-era practices above the empty Peer Hat pub (the epicentre of DIY music making in Manchester) the current line-up solidified:
Patrick Glen: guitar, vocals
Matt Kings: guitar, vocals
Jack Carpenter: bass Bruce
Sargent: drums, vocals
Rhys Davies: keyboards
The album’s sound is hard to pin down but it is Oort Clod’s most accessible and complete work so far. The band finds common ground in the alternative rock bands of the 1980s and 1990s, the post-punk and indie bands on Flying Nun Records and trashy compilations of post-British Invasion 60s garage gems like Nuggets.

Chorley Based, British Birds. They are a band with a DIY ethic and nostalgic charm, rubber-banding us back to physical music creation white streches the listeners ear and snaps them back to reality. This 5 piece dedicate themselves to the whole package; from the artwork, screen printing their own merch, to recording, producing and releasing their craft. Supported by Marc Riley, BBC introducing Lancs and Louder than war, they combine jangly catchy hooks, lullaby-like melody and sobering melancholy.
