Halloweezer II: Manchester @ Zombie Shack

Halloweezer and Bread Records present...

With Manc monsters HWY, Scouse screamers Thunder and the Giants, Glaswegian ghouls Peter Cat and Manc maniacs Nat Dempsey and the Near Strangers and an afterparty DJ set from TATG, you won't want the carnage to end. By the end of the night, the new Monarch of the Undead will be crowned and reign supreme over the North!

Halloweezer II is a continuation of Thunder and the Giants' popular Halloween event from last year, blending the spooky with the geeky rock of US legends Weezer. Each band performs an original set with a smattering of Weezer covers for good measure whilst dripping in blood. This time, Halloweezer goes across the North of England, hitting Manchester, Huddersfield, Blackpool and Liverpool in support of Thunder and the Giants' upcoming single "Hellhole Rollercoaster", releasing on October 31st on all streaming platforms.

HWY (pronounced ‘Highway’) are a modern alternative 5 piece from Manchester. Forming in 2019, HWY are a melodic powerhouse with a focus on energetic riffs using elements of ambience and electronics to imbue their music with mellow mid-sections and Heavy Anthemic Choruses that hit like a brick, taking influence from artists such as Queens of the stone age, Nothing But Thieves and Foals. HWY provides a sound that’s fit for the masses, with zero compromise.

 known for their sunshine soaked gloomy power pop that Weezer should have been making for the past 20 years, the Liverpool-based quartet take influence from the aforementioned nerd rockers alongside the likes of Dinosaur Pile-Up, Feeder, Rozwell Kid, Joyce Manor, PUP and Jeff Rosenstock. 
 with a couple of chuggy riffs, anthemic choruses and some sick solos, everything blends into a perfect storm, resulting in one of the best aural experiences this side of Hurley (Deluxe Edition).

Peter Cat is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow, Scotland, who has been making lyrical, ornamental pop music in this guise since 2015 while dressed like that mildly attractive supply teacher you once had. Peter Cat's wryly humorous, studiously crafted songs are as likely to appeal to fans of John Grant, Gus Dapperton and XTC as they are to disappoint anyone looking for a comprehensive explanation of glacial erosion. Peter Cat's debut LP, 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙎𝘼𝘾𝘾𝙃𝘼𝙍𝙄𝙉𝙀 𝙐𝙉𝘿𝙀𝙍𝙂𝙍𝙊𝙐𝙉𝘿, was released 06/11/20, followed by 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙈𝘼𝙂𝙐𝙎 on 04/03/22.

From punky floor movers to dreamy indie pop ballads, Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers are a post-punk/indie rock outfit based in Manchester with a huge range of influences; from Alice in Chains to Arctic Monkeys and everything in-between. 
 The new single ‘Run & Hide’ is out now; a thrashy commentary on political media balancing a strong theme with a fast and loud backdrop. Having already gained a track of the week slot on release with BBC Introducing in Cumbria, along with constant gigging in Manchester’s staple venues like Deaf Institute and Night & Day, the young lads that are fresh out of university are ones to watch.
